Rockpanel Mineral Fibre Cladding

Rockpanel Mineral Fibre Cladding

These prefabricated compressed mineral wool cladding boards with thermo-setting synthetic binders offer the longevity of stone and the added flexibility of being as easy to work with as wood, in one product. These unique properties result in highly durable, workable, and low maintenance cladding boards and are a direct alternative to fibre cement cladding panels.

In addition to the vast range of standard colours available (almost all RAL and NCS colours), the Rockpanel mineral fibre boards are also available in a range of special finishes such as Rockpanel Woods, Stone, Metallic and Chameleon, where the colour of the boards change depending on the viewers vantage point and the amount of natural light available. These flexible and robust boards can be applied easily and can even be shaped, curved and perforated.

The European Reaction to Fire classification system (Euroclasses) of all Rockpanel products is based on testing with non-combustible mineral wool insulation. For high-rise buildings and high-risk buildings, Rockpanel recommends the application of non-combustible (Euroclass A1-A2) cladding and insulation.

Testing and Installation

The Rockpanel cladding boards offer high performance when assessed for reaction to fire. Due to the nature of the stone wool fibres and the low binder content, the boards have a low calorific value, this means that they will hardly contribute to a fire when exposed.

The Rockpanel products are tested in accordance with the European harmonised technical specification (EAD 090001-00-0404) and are A2 classified in accordance with EN 13501-1.

Mineral fibre cladding boards are lightweight and can easily be cut to size on-site using traditional cutting tools and their edges do not require sealing. They are quick to install with screws, nails, or in some cases adhesives, requiring no special tooling, meaning construction and installation costs are kept to a minimum.

Key Features

Sustainable product
These mineral fibre cladding panels have been independently certified for their environmental performance by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), complying with all requirements identified in the scheme document SD028. The boards are amongst the best in their category with A+ and A ratings for various structures.

Easy to work with
Rockpanel mineral fibre cladding boards are as durable as stone and as easy to work with as wood. They are very light and can be machined quickly and easily using standard tools, saving installation time. This allows your building to be constructed more economically, without compromising on design, shape or functionality.

Easy to maintain
Rockpanel mineral fibre cladding boards are easy to maintain, the surface resists sun, wind and rain and the freshness and radiance of the colours are apparent for decades. Depending on the surface treatment, the boards can be cleaned with ordinary cleaning agents and clean water.

Colours and finishes
In addition to the vast range of standard colours available (almost all RAL and NCS colours), the Rockpanel mineral fibre boards are also available in a range of special colour ranges including Rockpanel Woods, Stone, Metallic and Chameleon, where the colour of the boards change depending on the viewers vantage point and the amount of natural light available. The range of colours available means Rockpanel can be used in natural shades to blend into surrounding landscape or in bold colours for a striking and modern design. These flexible and robust boards can be applied easily and can even be shaped, curved and perforated.

Certification and Testing

The Rockpanel mineral fibre cladding range has been CWCT tested, has European Technical Approval (ETA) and is A2 fire rated in accordance with EN 13501-1.
