Season 2024/25

Taylor Maxwell Fantasy Football League 2024/25 – Gameweek 7

Liverpool continued their encouraging start with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, who remain without a win this season. Arsenal and City kept the gap at the top of the table to only a point, both coming from behind to secure 3-1 and 3-2 wins over Southampton and Fulham respectively. Brentford’s fast scoring streak continued with a second minute opener against Wolves in a game they went on to win 5-3.

Leicester registered their first win of the season, a 1-0 win over Bournemouth who have now won only one of their last 4 games going into the international break. Ipswich Town’s 4 game drawing streak came to an abrupt halt at the hands of West Ham, who ran out comfortable 4-1 winners. Everton and Newcastle played out a scoreless draw in the Saturday evening game, Anthony Gordon missing a penalty against his former team.

Sunday also started with a goalless draw; Aston Villa well below their usual standard following their European exploits and Manchester United much improved defensively from last week’s defeat by Spurs. Nottingham Forest picked up a valuable point at Stamford Bridge as their solid start continues, and the weekend was finished by Spurs throwing away a 2-goal lead at Brighton as the Seagulls came from behind to claim a famous 3-2 win.
