Hardie® Plank Fibre Cement Cladding
The Hardie® Plank range of high-performance weatherboard planks are a low maintenance alternative to natural wood timber cladding. Manufactured by James Hardie from high quality Portland cement, sand and cellulose fibres, Hardie® Plank weatherboard cladding boards are a lightweight, easy-to-cut material that does not shrink or split.
When installed in accordance with the product's BBA certificate (04/4147), and subjected to normal conditions of exposure and use, Hardie® Plank will have an estimated service life in excess of 30 years. This range offers multiple colour and texture options, with a full range of colour matched or complementary coloured trims and accessories.

Colours and Finishes
The Hardie® Plank range of weatherboard cladding is available in two textures (a timber effect look and a smooth finish) and a variety of colours to suit a range of project designs.
This system utilises ColourPlus™ Technology, which provides a multi-coat, durable and fade-resistant finish that lasts. Colours range from traditional and neutral whites, greys and browns to more vibrant blues, greens and red.
Installation
Installation of the Hardie® Plank system is quick and easy and offers the installer maximum flexibility, with options to install boards horizontally, vertically, ship-lapped or open jointed. Boards are 8mm thick, 1220mm wide and come in either 2400mm or 3050mm lengths.
No special preparation or pre-drilling is required, the fibre cement planks are fully sealed, primed and painted in the factory. This means that they arrive on site ready for a fast and easy installation with no need for on-site painting, saving valuable time and effort on site.
Colour-matched or contrasting trim is available to accentuate or finish corners, columns, doors and windows.
Key Features
This range of cladding planks are fibre reinforced Portland cement boards, satisfying the requirements of Category A, Class 2 in accordance with BS EN 12467:2012. The planks are satisfactory to be used as an exterior non-loadbearing wall cladding over timber-framed, masonry or concrete, or aluminium steel-framed walls. Dimension of the planks are 3600mm x 180mm x 8mm with a 30mm overlap. The weight of the planks is 7.4kg per plank, totalling 11.419 kg/m2.
The manufacturer offers a 15-year warranty on all Hardie® Plank products. This provides confidence that the products will not warp, crack, peel or rot which is a major advantage over alternative solutions such as uPVC or wood cladding. Fibre cement facades can protect against fire, moisture, mould and pests. uPVC cladding is prone to colour fade and becomes brittle over time and wood is also prone to moisture damage.
