01

Client

A client, such as a council, developer or housebuilder, is the starting point in a project’s development process. Determining what is required from the ensuing supply chain, e.g. a new school building or a new mixed-use development, the client pulls together a proposal and enlists an architect to bring their project vision to life.

Though we don’t work directly with the client, we support and assist the appointed project team to ensure the client's brief is realised and completed to the highest standards, while meeting planning requirements.

Architect

With the client’s proposal in mind, an architect sets about designing the building required. Through meetings with the client, local planners and material consultants, the architects will create a design that works to the brief, while keeping in mind the local vernacular and any restrictions.

We can support architects at this stage by hosting design meetings at our showrooms to discuss project requirements, providing samples and product information for planning approval and sharing completed project images, typical details and prices of selected materials.

Main Contractor

With the designs created, the architect provides corresponding documents to the main contractors to allow them to tender for the project. The contractors must request prices from suppliers and subcontractors in order to submit their bid, including their own costs and services, to the client.

We can assist main contractors at this stage by providing detailed project quotations, product lead times, recommended installers and any additional product information required, including alternative product options that match the required specification and performance. Our customer service team will ensure product deliveries are aligned with the overall build schedule and assist with any queries.

Subcontractor/Installer

Once a main contractor has won a project bid, a subcontractor/installer must be appointed for the different project elements required, such as bricklaying or cladding installation. The subcontractor will need to request prices and place an order with the supplier.

We can support subcontractors/installers at this stage by providing detailed quotations, product lead times and installation guidelines. Alternative product options can also be provided that match the required specification and performance, if required.
