5-a-side Football Tournament 2023
Friday 15th September saw the return of the annual Taylor Maxwell vs Wienerberger 5-a-side football tournament! It was Taylor Maxwell’s trophy to win after the defeat to Wienerberger last year.
Team TM North got off to a tricky start at their match against Wiener Real and all looked to be going in Wienerberger’s favour. TM North fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, going on to win on penalties.
At the semi-finals, neither team Wiener Breman or TM Scotol were able to get goals in, therefore the match decider came down to penalties where TM Scotol were able to push through and went on to win! With Wienerberger out of the tournament, it would be the two Taylor Maxwell teams playing against each other to decide who took home the title.
The final saw TM Scotol and TM North fight it out for the title. It was a game played at walking pace, as all players were evidently shattered. With no side wanting to lose the game, the whistle blew with scores at 0-0. Team Scotol were able to pull together in the end and went on to win the tournament 3-2 on penalties.

It remains to be seen if Wienerberger are able to win back the trophy at next year’s tournament!
