Horizons Retirement Home

Horizons is a retirement living complex developed by McCarthy & Stone. The development is comprised of 80 apartments, designed to provide contemporary living spaces for the needs of individuals at a later stage in life.

The architectural design aim was to create a modern signature building for Poole, alluding to its luxury motor yacht heritage whilst incorporating exemplary coastal architecture. The streamlined architectural approach required a curved facade system, which responds to the gentle curve of Churchfield Road.

Taylor Maxwell supplied the development with Stonepanel, an external cladding system made up of natural stone panels. The project required a product suitable for curved designs, Stonepanel was chosen as it is versatile and allows for a monolithic and continuous appearance.
